Research
To get the smallest possible output for motion designs I wanted the final animation to be both a SMIL animated SVG and a GIF for the actual email signature banner. Both can be achieved with a little known Alpha level Open Source app called Enve 2D.
Design
The vector design was done in Affinity Designer and then imported into Enve 2D for the animation.
Banner Design & Animation
Above you can see the final SVG SMIL output of Enve 2D. The file is only 25kb in size and renders very sharp at any resolution being a vector file. The animation was also exported as an image sequence and turned into a animated GIF with GIMP.
